GenAI-Driven Attacks Require Changes to Application and Data Security Practices and User Monitoring End-user spending on security and risk management (SRM) in India is forecast to total $2.9 billion in 2024, an increase of 12.4% from 2023, according to a new forecast from Gartner, Inc. Indian organizations will continue to increase their security spending through 2024 due to legacy IT modernization using cloud technology, industry demand for digital platforms, updated regulatory environment, and continuous remote/hybrid work. “In 2024, chief information and security officers (CISOs) in India will prioritize their spending on SRM to improve organizational resilience and compliance,” said Shailendra Upadhyay , Sr Principal at Gartner. “With the introduction of stringent government measures mandating security breach reporting and digital data protection , CISOs are facing heightened responsibility in safeguarding critical assets against evolving cyber threats.” Gartner a...

Modern networks require a combination of resource, customer and service assurance models to monitor report and troubleshoot. No single method by itself can provide a fail-safe and effective way to guarantee the customer experience, says Accanto Systems. It takes an integrated approach which allows operators to transform information into actionable intelligence.
By taking this approach, according to the vendor, the operator can provide the best point of view for the issue at hand and focus on critical information and issues first. With the adaptive approach, it is possible to select a number of dashboards, structure them over different layers, and display the relevant information along different perspectives and axes in a timely manner. As an example, consider a mobile operator that was offering different subscription packages based on throughput (between 384kbps and 5Mbps).
The operator needed to validate whether the different premium customers were receiving the performance they were paying for, and in case they were not, identify what the issues were. In this case, the best monitoring approach is customer-centric, grouping customers according to their subscription package as a first step. Next, the operator can drill down by area of location to identify whether the problem is a general one, or is limited to a particular service area.
Taking the example further, the operator then looks at performance information from a location perspective. In this case, it is looking at failures in setting up a connection divided by different geographical areas and network nodes that belong to those areas. This approach is best to identify the areas that need to be looked at with highest priority.
